Swan's resides on Parsells Avenue right here in Rochester. And if this town has taught me anything it's don't judge a restaurant by it's location.
Truer words have never been spoken when it comes to Swan's. This place is straight up, old-time German family-style dining at its finest. There are not booths at Swan's, there are long tables lined end to end.
You walk in and head to the counter at the back. You look in the case and you see their specialties, calling out your name. Wursts and sausages abound. You pick a few and head to your seat. Maybe you want to order a fine German beer to wash down your liverwurst. Go for it. Savor in the seasonings and quality products that only local hands could produce. Eat every bite because you want to and because you dare not disrespect the work that has gone into creating such a great meal.
Swan's is a Rochester gem, plain and simple. If you don't dare "brave" the Parsells Avenue area, there really is nothing to fear. Swan's will take care of you.
